Snow shoes were used by the Arctic Circle populations to move through the waist-deep snowy lands of the North Pole. Today, in the same place, people use thundering snow mobiles but snow shoes remain a useful tool to run across our mountains.

The wintry face of the mountains is the most suggestive thing you can imagine. Walking through deep and silent coniferous woods we may see some little habitants of the forest.

DOLOMITI D’AMPEZZO – FANES-SENNES HIGHLAND TOUR

A three-day traverse dedicated to passionate trekkers who don’t want stop walking on the Dolomites during winter. Wearing snow-shoes we can completely traverse the Fanes-Sennes highland, renowned for its environmental and natural features, located inside D’Ampezzo Dolomites’ Natural Park.

Overnights are in comfortable mountain huts: Rifugio Ucia de Sennes, Rifugio La Varella or Rifugio Fanes.

NIGHT SNOWSHOEING – DOLOMITES

Following the path just under the impressive Dolomites faces, we will walk to the warm hut where we will be delighted by the hut keepers with one of their traditional dishes enjoyed close to the wood stove. For the return, we will choose the forest road that leads us gently down to the valley.
